Warehousing

Storage close to the main UK ports, delivered when you're ready.

Your goods don't always arrive when you're ready for them. A container can land before there's space in your warehouse, seasonal stock may arrive months before it sells, or one shipment may need to go to several places. Our warehouse facilities close to the main UK ports bridge that gap.

What we offer

  • Container devanning: your container is unloaded at the warehouse, the goods are checked against the packing list and palletised
  • Storage: short or longer term, on pallets
  • Delivery when you're ready: call off goods in one go or in smaller loads
  • Split deliveries: one container shared across several shops, customers or sites
  • Stock held for onward shipping: goods held until the next stage, by road or for export

Why store near the port?

  • Avoid port and container charges. Containers left at the port after the free time attract storage and demurrage, and the shipping line charges detention until it's returned empty. Devanning promptly stops both.
  • Lower haulage costs. A short trip to a nearby warehouse, then economical deliveries on pallets.
  • Flexibility. Deliver when your own space, staff or customers are ready.

How it works

  1. Your container arrives and is cleared through customs by our Essex team
  2. We collect it from the port and bring it to the warehouse
  3. We devan and check the goods against the packing list, and report any shortages or damage
  4. Goods are stored on pallets
  5. You call off deliveries when you need them

Who it suits

  • Importers waiting for space in their own warehouse
  • Seasonal stock that arrives well ahead of the selling season
  • Businesses supplying several shops or customers from one container
  • Importers who need goods checked before delivery

How storage is priced

Storage is usually charged per pallet per week, plus handling charges for devanning, putting goods away and preparing them for delivery. Tell us what's arriving and how long you expect to store it, and we'll quote.

What we need from you to quote

  • What's arriving, how many cartons or pallets, and the container type
  • Roughly how long you'd like it stored
  • How you'd like it delivered: all at once, or in smaller loads
  • Delivery addresses

Frequently asked questions

Where is the warehouse?

We use warehouse facilities close to the main UK container ports, so goods can be devanned and stored without a long journey first.

Can you store goods for a short time only?

Yes. Many customers store goods for a few days or weeks while they make space or wait for orders, then call them off for delivery.

Can you split one container across several delivery addresses?

Yes. We devan the container, store the goods on pallets and deliver them to different addresses as you need them.

Why not leave the container at the port?

Ports charge storage after the free time, and shipping lines charge for keeping their container. Devanning into a warehouse is often cheaper and frees the container.
