Not everything travels in a container. For goods already in the UK, or moving between the UK and Europe, road freight is often the quickest and simplest option. We move single pallets, part loads and full trailers across the UK, and to and from Europe.
What we move by road
- UK pallets and part loads: from one pallet upwards, on shared vehicles
- Full loads: a dedicated trailer or vehicle, collected and delivered without stops
- Onward delivery from the port: goods devanned from containers and delivered on pallets
- UK–Europe loads: imports from and exports to EU countries, with customs paperwork

UK–EU road freight after Brexit
Goods moving between Great Britain and the EU are imports and exports, with:
- An export declaration on the sending side
- An import declaration on the receiving side, with any duty and VAT
- Safety and security information submitted before arrival
- Proof of origin, if claiming zero duty under the UK–EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement
Getting the paperwork right before the lorry leaves keeps it from being held at the border. Our customs team handles the UK side and makes sure the paperwork is in place for the EU side.
How road freight is priced
Prices depend on:
- Distance and collection and delivery postcodes
- Number of pallets, weight and dimensions
- Vehicle type and any extras such as a tail-lift or timed delivery
- For Europe, customs declarations and any border costs
Packing for road
- Palletise goods and shrink-wrap them securely
- Keep pallets within standard sizes (UK 1200 × 1000 mm or Euro 1200 × 800 mm) and a sensible height
- Label every pallet with the delivery address and pallet count
- Tell us about anything fragile, heavy or hazardous
