Most UK importers buying from Bangladesh deal with a forwarder who has no one on the ground at origin. We do. Our own offices in Dhaka and Chittagong (Chattogram) handle booking, container loading checks and export documentation, and our team in Essex clears the goods when they land.
What we move on this lane
Ready-made garments and knitwear make up the bulk of it, alongside textiles, leather goods, home textiles, jute products and food. We handle full containers, part loads from a single pallet, and air freight out of Dhaka for samples and urgent stock.
How a Bangladesh shipment runs
- Booking. Your supplier gives us the cargo-ready date and we book space on a suitable sailing out of Chittagong.
- Loading. Our Chittagong team checks the cargo against the packing list as the container is stuffed, so a short shipment is caught at origin, not in Felixstowe.
- Export paperwork. We prepare the export documents with your supplier and make sure the proof of origin is right — it is what keeps your duty at zero.
- Sailing. Most sailings tranship at a hub port on the way. We keep you posted at each stage.
- Clearance and delivery. Our Essex team lodges the import declaration before the vessel arrives and delivers to your door or depot.
Duty on goods from Bangladesh
Most goods from Bangladesh enter the UK duty-free under the Developing Countries Trading Scheme, provided they meet the rules of origin. Import VAT still applies. Read our guide to duty and VAT on Bangladesh imports for how it works and what changes after Bangladesh graduates from Least Developed Country status.
What you need to give us
- Commercial invoice and packing list
- Your supplier's contact details
- HS codes for the goods, or we can classify them for you
- Your GB EORI number
Why origin offices matter
When a supplier is late, a container is short-shipped, or paperwork is wrong, the difference between a problem solved in a day and a problem solved in a week is having someone who can go to the factory. That is what the Dhaka and Chittagong offices are for.
